About ExportDecode
Privacy laws mean most big services will hand you a copy of your data. What they hand you is a ZIP of CSV and JSON files that are hard to read and, if you are careful, not something you want to upload to a random website. ExportDecode exists to close that gap.
What it does
ExportDecode is a set of analyzers that run entirely in your browser. You drop in a file you requested from a service, and it computes totals, rankings, charts and CSV exports on your own device. There is no account, no upload and no server that ever sees your file.
Principles
- Local first. Files are processed in memory in your tab. The page’s Content-Security-Policy blocks network connections, so this is enforced by your browser. Verify it yourself.
- Honest numbers. Every result says what the file can and cannot tell you. Estimates are labelled as estimates.
- Official routes only. We never ask for passwords and never automate your accounts. We read files the services gave you.
- Useful guides. Each analyzer comes with a plain-language guide for getting the file, because that is usually the hard part.
How it is funded
ExportDecode is free. If it ever carries ads, sponsorship or optional paid extras, they will not touch your files and the privacy policy will be updated before anything changes.
What it is not
ExportDecode is an independent project. It is not affiliated with Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, Google, YouTube, Meta, Instagram or any bank. It does not give financial, legal or tax advice, and its figures can differ from those the services show.
What’s next
More export formats are being considered, such as other streaming services, ride and delivery receipts, and more bank layouts. If there is a file you can’t read, tell us.
