Accuracy and completeness
ExportDecode calculates from the data available in your file. Results may differ from figures shown by the original service for several reasons:
- Services sometimes omit or aggregate data in their exports (for example, Amazon does not include digital purchases in the standard order export).
- Refunds, returns and reversals may be in separate files and are not automatically subtracted.
- YouTube watch time is an estimate because Google's export does not include video lengths.
- Bank transaction categorization and subscription detection are heuristic and may miss or misidentify charges.
- Export formats change over time. If a service updated its format recently, some fields may be missing or misread.
Bank and financial CSV specifically
The recurring charge detection in ExportDecode is rhythm-based. It looks for transactions with the same approximate merchant name appearing on a regular schedule. This means:
- A recurring charge may not be detected if the merchant name varies month to month.
- Regular personal habits (a weekly visit to the same shop) can look like a subscription and may be listed as one.
- The "next expected charge" and annual cost estimates are projections based on past rhythm — they are not guarantees.
- ExportDecode does not have access to your bank. It cannot initiate, cancel or modify any transaction or subscription.
Always verify subscription costs against your bank's official statements and the actual terms of the service before cancelling or disputing anything.

All trademarks and product names belong to their respective owners. Export formats and what they contain are determined entirely by those services, not by ExportDecode.
