Where to download your data from popular services
Many services let you download a copy of everything they hold about you, but the page is rarely easy to find. Here are the official entry points, what you get, and which ones ExportDecode can already read.
Links and menus change. These are the official pages as of writing. If one fails, sign in and search the account settings for “download your data” or “export”. Never enter your password on a site that is not the service’s own domain.

Tips before you request
- Use a computer and the same account and country site you actually use.
- Choose JSON or CSV over HTML or PDF whenever there is a choice: they are far easier to analyze.
- Request only what you need. Smaller exports arrive faster and expose less.
- Download promptly; links to the archive often expire after a few days.
- Treat the file as sensitive. It can contain addresses, messages and payment details. Keep it in an encrypted folder or delete it when you are done.
Questions
Do companies have to give me a copy of my data?
Laws such as the EU and UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give people rights to access their personal data, and most large services provide a self-service download. Formats and speed vary.
Why do some downloads take days?
Services assemble your archive on their own schedule and verify your identity by email first. Spotify’s extended streaming history, for example, can take up to 30 days.
Is it safe to open these files on a website?
Only if the site never sends them anywhere. ExportDecode processes files inside your browser tab; see the privacy walkthrough for how to verify that.
