Spotify listening history analyzer: look beyond Wrapped

Wrapped is one year, once a year, with Spotify’s rules. Your extended streaming history is every play you have made, with timestamps and play length. ExportDecode reads it in your browser so you can look at any year — or all of them.

Already have your Spotify ZIP? Drop it in as-is, or the Streaming_History JSON files inside it.

How to download your Spotify data

  1. Sign in at spotify.com/account/privacy and scroll to Download your data.
  2. Tick Extended streaming history (you can leave the other boxes empty) and click request.
  3. Confirm the request from the email Spotify sends.
  4. Wait. Spotify says the extended history can take up to 30 days to prepare; you get an email with the download link.
  5. Download the ZIP and drop it into the analyzer.

Need something sooner? The basic “Account data” option arrives faster but covers only about the last year and has no platform or skip details. ExportDecode reads it too, with fewer insights.

What’s inside the file

The extended history is a set of JSON files named like Streaming_History_Audio_2023-2025_0.json. Each entry has a timestamp (ts), the platform, ms_played, the country, track, artist and album (or episode and show for podcasts), why playback started and ended, and whether you skipped or used shuffle. Files with “Video” in the name are ignored.

Questions

Why is the request so slow?

Spotify prepares the extended history on its own schedule and says it can take up to 30 days. Request it once and keep the file.

Is my listening data uploaded?

No. The JSON is parsed in your browser tab. See the privacy walkthrough.
