Guides
Step-by-step instructions for requesting your data export from each service, understanding the file, and getting the most out of the analyzer.
Choose your service
Every guide below covers three things: where to request your export, what is inside the file, and what the analyzer can and cannot tell you from it.
Amazon
- Amazon order history analyzer — request “Your Orders”, read
Retail.OrderHistory.1.csv, and see spending by year, re-orders and price swings. - Not covered: digital purchases (Kindle, Prime Video, apps) and refunds, which Amazon ships in separate files.
Netflix
- Netflix viewing history analyzer — request your data download, open
ViewingActivity.csv, and see total hours watched, top shows, binge days and a weekday × hour heatmap.
Spotify
- Spotify listening history analyzer — request extended streaming history, open the
Streaming_HistoryJSON, and see hours, top artists, skip rate and any single year.
YouTube
- YouTube watch history analyzer — export history from Google Takeout as JSON, open
watch-history.json, and see top channels, Shorts share and rewatches.
- Check who doesn't follow you back — export “Followers and following” as JSON, then compare
followers_1.jsonwithfollowing.jsonlocally. No password, no app.
Bank or credit card
- Find recurring charges in a bank CSV — export your transactions as CSV and detect subscriptions, repeating charges, yearly cost, price increases and stopped payments.
Getting the file in the first place
- Where to request your data — official “download your data” links for Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, Google, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Apple and more, with what each export contains.
Understanding the tool
- How it works — the full process step by step, including how to verify the privacy claims yourself.
- Is it safe to analyze a data export? — three ways to check that a tool never uploads your file, applicable to any site.
- Supported data formats — exact file names, required columns, available analysis and known limitations for every provider.
- Privacy policy — exactly what ExportDecode does and does not collect.
- Frequently asked questions — file sizes, errors, bank data safety and troubleshooting.
No file yet? Every analyzer also runs on generated sample data, so you can see the output before downloading anything.
